What if your existence proved the entire universe wrong...?
Point of
Origin
episode one
I thought Astrostorm survivors were scarce because getting pulled apart a few hundred times and put back together in a space storm just… did something a little freaky to your neurology.

I was wrong.

Turns out, there’s an entirely different reason why people who get sucked into an Astrostorm don’t survive, and it has very little to do with how well your atoms fare getting pushed through a thousand lightyears in a nanosecond, and everything to do with the science guilds who were waiting for you on the other side...

On the fast paced, lawless Planet of Coiven, Evren West, a young survivor from the sectors most recent Astrostorm, does her best to survive after the anomaly wipes her memories, and leaves her stranded on a world she doesn't know.
The young girl has trouble aplenty with her new life via hostile mechanic gangs, slippery Scavengers, and a perpetually empty stomach, but life on Covien only gets more complicated when a science guild from the common worlds shows up to hunt for the rumored survivor.

Thrust into a world of starway taxes and travel tolls, Evren's distant fantasies of leaving Covien behind become a crushing reality of needing to get offworld, and in a few days-- Something Evren knows to be impossible task for a nameless street urchin like herself.

But in Evren's exploits to get offworld, she becomes begrudgingly entangled in the lives of a mysterious but confusing merchant crew from an independent, obscure trade guild. Could this be another hiccup in her plans? Or has Evren just found a clever way to pay her fines and finally get to safety?

Haunted by a past she can't remember, and challenged by a future that's slipping out of her fingers, Evren must accept the uncomfortable truths about her survival, or risk losing a battle that's already tipped out of her favour...
With themes of family, courage, and redemption, Merchants of the Void is an epic space fantasy that explores what it means to stand up for others, face our fears, and truly embrace who we are without shame.

There's a thousand worlds out there...

WHAT IS IT?
Merchants of The Void is a science fiction/space fantasy that takes place in the fictional universe The Kosmoverse. This website acts as it's publication space, while also providing an interactive experience of the story through quizzes, Q & A's, resources for alphabets, races, and planets that appear in-story.

WHO IS IT FOR?
Merchants of the Void is for any one who is looking for a adventurous, old fashioned space saga with lots of characters, lots of bread, and tons of fun. Merchants of the Void can be enjoyed by young adults or teenagers, or simply by an audience who appreciates thought-provoking themes, diverse characters, and clean content.

DO I HAVE TO PAY ANYTHING?
Not a cent. Episode One of Merchants of the Void, Point of Origin, is currently being published chapter by chapter, and for free. Right here-- No catch! :]

WHAT CAN I DO TO HELP?
While Merchants of The Void is currently free to be enjoyed by everyone, we can't grow our project without our audience- weather that's from our fantastic readers who spread Point of Origin via fanart or word of mouth, or supporters that can spare a few dollars each month on Ko-fi-- it all helps to grow Merchants of The Void into the story it could be. Sharing Merchants of the Void on social media, or buying a few prints of Ko-fi goes a long way in terms of maintaining the site, paying our writer, and feeding our editor.

about
the
author
"...In this universe, existence is the bravest, most noblest of acts there is."
-Lewis, Episode One, Point Of Origin
My name is Abigail Strange, and I hate lists, mushrooms, and writing about the author sections.
For the sake of my sanity, and yours, I'll keep this brief; You want to know more about the author behind the story? Put three raccoons and magpie in a trench coat and then watch the mayhem that follows. (and the kleptomania)
To be a writer, you have to be a little insane. You have to entertain the strangest of ideas and listen to the most curious of voices for the sake of cultivating a better character. You have to be borderline unstable to be a poet, a captain, a pauper, and an empress- all in the span of one chapter. I like to pretend sometimes that this is completely normal, but lets face it, it's not. The the good news is that there are hundreds of people like me, and thousands of people like you, so the chance of meeting me one day on the street is very low.
I guess I have to tie up this blurb with why I write, or something, and I guess... I'll just say I'm tired of the state of writing industry. I want stories to go back to what they were meant to be- works that could enrich, entertain, and encourage the people around us.
So here I am. And here I'll stay, for as long as my coffee fund allows.
through adversity,
-A
